Department of Anesthesiology and ICU

About us
The anesthesia department is central to the functioning of operating rooms, expertly managing patients throughout their surgical journey, from hospital admission to the operating theater, and continuing their care in the intensive care unit.
Our department boasts up to date anesthesia equipment and a comprehensive range of medications, surpassing the resources available in many other anesthesia departments. We possess specialized expertise in anesthesia for open-heart surgeries, including proficiency in performing intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). To minimize medication risks during surgery, we employ a specific protocol that incorporates nerve block technique.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Our dedicated 18-bed ICU is specifically designed for cardiac and vascular postoperative care. Each bed is equipped with:
– A personal ventilator and monitoring system
– Centralized monitoring for continuous real-time surveillance
We also manage critically ill patients with severe heart failure and operate a specialized ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) team for advanced life support).

Our team
Our team comprises highly experienced anesthesiologists, some with subspecialty expertise and others with extensive experience in the field. This expertise extends to our well-qualified staff in the operating rooms and the intensive care unit, as well as throughout other departments within the hospital.

Health information

Anesthesia for cardiac patients is a meticulous process, starting from their hospital admission through to their discharge from the intensive care unit. We conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations and administer medications to alleviate stress during the procedure. Collaborating closely with the surgeon and cardiologist, we meticulously assess the patient’s risk level to determine the most suitable anesthesia method and the post-operative management strategy in the intensive care unit, ensuring comprehensive care until the patient’s discharge.
