About us
The Laboratory Department at Erbil Cardiac Center plays a crucial role in the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of cardiac conditions. It is equipped to perform a wide range of tests essential for cardiovascular care. A complete list of the tests and their prices are shown in the following table. The laboratory has in 29.11.2023 gained accreditation of the standard ISO 14189: 2012. According to the requirements of the above standard, the laboratory participates continually in the External Quality Assessment (EQA)/ Proficiency Testing (PT) programs at the Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS). This is done to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the tests results.

The laboratory works closely with the clinical teams, providing rapid and accurate results that are critical for timely decision-making in acute cardiac emergencies and for long-term patient management.

The Laboratory Department at Erbil Cardiac Center is staffed by a dedicated and highly skilled team essential for providing accurate and timely diagnostic information for cardiac patients.

Our Team
This multidisciplinary team typically includes:
• Laboratory Director/Manager: This individual provides overall leadership, oversees the department’s operations, ensures compliance with quality standards and regulations, manages staff, and implements new technologies and testing methodologies. They are responsible for the strategic direction and efficiency of the lab.
• Laboratory Quality Manager: The quality manager has a number of tasks including development, implement, and maintenance the Quality Management System (QMS) according to ISO 15189:2022; Monitoring effectiveness of quality procedures, policies, and processes, and identifying and assessment of risks that could impact the quality of laboratory services.
• Medical Technologists/ Lab technicians : These are the core analytical professionals. They perform a wide array of complex laboratory tests, including cardiac biomarkers, blood chemistry, hematology, and coagulation studies. They are responsible for analyzing samples, interpreting results, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all tests. Their expertise is crucial for identifying critical values that require immediate clinical attention.
• Phlebotomists: These specialists are responsible for the crucial initial step of collecting blood samples from patients. They are skilled in venipuncture techniques, ensuring patient comfort, proper sample collection, and accurate labeling, which is vital for the integrity of test results.

Most often, you’ll be asked to provide a blood sample. Here’s what you can expect:
